Naomi Yeshiva (吉田吉田 樹, Yeshiva Naomi), additionally called Ship nickname, is a Japanese video game producer, director and also designer working for Square Enix. It is primarily understood for his work with greatly multiplayer role plays, as a preparation leader on Dragon Mission X, and as a Final Fantasy XIV director as well as producer: A World Reborn. He was selected to save the original variation of Final Fantasy XIV of his disastrous launch. Naomi Yeshiva is Principal Executive Officer at Square Enix, Principal of the Square Enix Business Department and also becomes part of the Final Fantasy board that takes treatment of keeping the getaways of franchise business in addition to their coherent material.
At the beginning of December 2021, the new extension for Final Fantasy 14 is started with End Walker. The responsible team of directors and Producer Naomi Yeshiva had to master a very special situation. Due to the hypes around the Square MMORPG, fueled by well-known influencers such as Mongol or Preach, the developers expect a never-way rush to the FF14 servers.
At the same time, the continued to increase Corona pandemic ensured that long-planned upgrades for data centers and servers could not be performed because semiconductor production has been completely adjusted or there is simply too little hardware and raw materials for the current need. Of these, the developers of The Elder Scrolls online can sing a song, who had to fight comparable problems over the last two years.
Queue Frustration
It came, as it had to come: at the latest to the Prime-Time formed and form on all servers long queues, in which one holds partly several hours. But not only that: due to various problems could and can happen again and again that players have been thrown out of the line with an error message from the queue and have had to restore again. Especially for players who can only log in the evening after work for a few hours, that's the Super Gas. For them, it is almost not worthwhile to sign up at all. When the bed calls, you probably still have a three to four-digit number of players.
Model reaction
Just introduce you, Blizzard would happen in the current situation with a new WoW extension. Where: something comparable is the Californian yes in 2019 only at the launch of WoW Classic. At that time the Shit storm was homemade. Blizzard had ignored the community from the beginning and provided far too few servers. This resulted in other problems under which the affected Realms still have to nibble in TBC Classic. An apology or a kind of reparation never existed. Final Fantasy 14: The Launch of End walker runs everything but supple. Good that Naomi Yeshiva keeps us up to date almost every day. Source: Final Fantasy
Quietly, Square Enix is now dealing with the technical problems of the End Walker launch. Almost daily there are updates from the boss developer the highest person. Often very extensive updates, mind you, in which problems and problem solutions will be described in detail. Always in combination with an apology, and although most fans should be clear that a decent serving of force majeure with pure play (read: the corona pandemic with their impact on the production of hardware parts).
Due to the constant updates to the measures carried out, as a player, as a player, I always had the feeling that the server engineers and developers just break out a leg to fix the mistakes and to ship as many final Bobby buyers to Korea as possible. That's exactly what we want to see in such a difficult situation, right?!
Like Blizzard in 2005
But that's not all. Square Enix goes on and apologizes not only to the situation, there is still a free season as a reparation. First seven days, then again 14 days. 21 days playing time compensation so far, that's remarkable!
Many other MMO providers do not even come up with the idea of offering such a kind of compensation in technical problems. At Blizzard there was something like that, many years ago. Over 2005, I had even accumulated a lot of days for free time, because WOW in the launch year everything else ran than round. It was another time.
Sales stop
Square Enix does not dispense with money elsewhere to get the problems under control. The Publisher stops the sale of the starters and complete editions of Final Fantasy 14 for some time, physically in the store and digital! In addition, registration will be suspended for the free trial of the online role-playing game.
The aim of this measure is clear: it should never be more interested in the queues until the situation has defused. Dear less revenue and the existing players are satisfied than the maximum of sales and all push frustration. Good decision!
Thumbs up, Yeshiva!
I am impressed for my part of how Square Enix currently masters this difficult situation and would wish others cut out a thick slice. Especially the end walker, so far played so far, really fun ! Rising quality through extensions... this is still what Blizzard at Square could look out cough.
